Does submitting to directories help ?

Yes, it does and you too somewhat believe it. Otherwise you wouldn’t have land up here.The objective is to gain some good back links from other web sites. Nothing could be better if you can manage to have some sites with good page ranks back linking to your site. But it seldom happens that way. Why should a high ranking site put your link on their web pages at the first instance ? Well, it is not absolutely impossible but it is certainly difficult to convince such authoritative sites to consider a relatively newbie like you.

So, what the solution ? If you are new to SEO, I am sure that you have learned by now from SEO sites that submitting your web site URL to quality web sites is an excellent alternative. I want to go further by saying that it is not only an alternative but it is almost mandatory if you wish to do well with the search engines. But there are certain rules that should be followed to achieve most out of Directory Submission.
