Images on your web site – take advantage
February 27, 2007 – 4:08 pmHello friends,
Do you optimize your web site yourself ? Or someone does it for you ?
What ever the case may be, make sure that you have inserted some nice images in your web pages. Your visitors are going to love it and when I say visitors I definitely GoogleBot as well.
But the famous Google Robot ( or spider, as you may call it) cannot view the images on your site, it can only read the text. This is a great opportunity. Take full advantage of it. How ? Let’s take this example – have a look at the image below

Suppose it is from a social bookmarking site. This is an image of .png format. The image file of this image is called social-bookmarking.png . It has got an Alt tag named ‘Social Bookmarking Site Submission’ and a title of the same name. And if you are using layers to build your site you can even use it as the ‘id’ of the tag.I think, that way you have made it it clear to the search engine spider that this site is related to ‘social bookmarking’. And to your pleasant surprise you may just find the image in the first page of Google image search when someone searches for a keyword or key-phrase like ‘social bookmarking’. That’s a bonus. So, just do it.
Will be soon back.
